Hey everyone!
It's Kimberly with Get Away Today. It's nearly Spring Break season and for many families, that means a trip to Disneyland. I've put together some of my top tips for Spring Break at Disneyland.
Arrive early or stay late
Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure normally open earlier and stay open later during busy seasons like Spring Break. Make the most of your time by arriving early or staying late in the parks. Crowds will be lighter at those times. Plus, there's just something special about being at Disneyland first thing in the morning and late at night.
Magic Mornings
Another way to make the most of your time is to use the Magic Morning early entry that is included with all 3-Day and longer park tickets. Magic Morning is only valid for admission for Disneyland Park (not California Adventure) and is only available on select days. Make sure you check the official calendar before you try to use it. Typically, Magic Morning is offered on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings one hour before the park opens to the general public.
If you don't have a 3-Day or longer ticket or won't be using your Magic Morning, go to California Adventure that day. Crowds will be heavier at Disneyland on Magic Mornings. Click the button to get more tips for using the Disneyland calendar to avoid crowds in Allison's post One Simple Trick for Avoiding Crowds at Disneyland.
Extra Magic Hours
If you want to get into Disney California Adventure Park early, stay at one of the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort. Disney hotel guests can get into one of the parks an hour early every day with Extra Magic Hours. It means that you can get into Disney California Adventure Park an hour early on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday mornings. You can also take advantage of Magic Morning on the days it's offered at Disneyland just by flashing your room key with your park ticket. That extra hour is totally worth it during Spring Break at Disneyland.
The Disney hotels are Disneyland Hotel, Disney's Grand Californian and Disney's Paradise Pier. Click the button to read Allison's full review of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa.
Use the official app
Download the official Disneyland app before you arrive at Disneyland. Use the app to check ride times and show times, purchase and use the MaxPass system, make restaurant reservations, read menus and so much more. Click the button to read Everything You Need to Know About the Disneyland App before your trip to make the most of it.
FASTPASS and more
Be sure to use the FastPass system as well as Rider Swap and Single Rider lines when necessary. These are all free and can save you hours in line. Another game changer for wait times is Disney's MaxPass service, which I highly recommend during Spring Break at Disneyland. Click the button to read all about it in my article: When and How to Use Disney MaxPass.
Entertainment
There is a lot more to Disneyland than rides. The entertainment is top notch too. The new Fantasmic! show is incredible. Grab a FASTPASS for this show early in the day or make a dining package reservation. You are not going to want to miss it.
Make Character Dining reservations early
Don't waste precious park time waiting to meet characters during Spring Break season. Since Ariel’s Grotto closed, there are four Character Dining options to choose from. Goofy's Kitchen and Surf's Up Breakfast with Mickey and Friends are premium options. Chip and Dale's Critter Country Breakfast and Breakfast in the Park with Minnie and Friends are more affordable. Make reservations up to 60 days in advance – your Spring Break may already be within that window!
Tips for 2019
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge – the new Star Wars land – will open in Summer 2019, so it will not quite be open for Spring Break. However, that may mean lighter crowds and better prices for Spring Break.
Pixar Pier in Disney's California Adventure opened in Summer 2018, so you'll probably want to put it on your list! Click the button to get all our tips for visiting Pixar. Pier.
The Disney California Adventure Park Food & Wine Festival will be happening during Spring Break season. So, Spring Break at Disneyland this year may be just as much for Mom and Dad as it is for the kids. This event is back by popular demand for the longest time yet – seven weeks. The event runs March 1 through April 23 with celebrity chef presentations, special tastings and fun kiosks throughout the park. If you want to attend any of the tastings or presentations, you can make your reservations now on Disney's website.
I hope these tips help you make the most of your Spring Break at Disneyland. If you haven't yet booked your trip, our agents at Get Away Today would love to help. They've toured all of the properties and love helping families find their perfect hotel and the lowest price on Disneyland tickets.

Airports Transfers London
Fun ride, parade, music, dancing, turkey leg, whats not to love. Oh yeah the line up, starts from the line up to park, then line up to search your belongings, line up to get into the front gate, line up for the rides. The Food and Wine festival is always terrific and the evening water and light show is great, just not as good as Fantasmic.
