Planning a trip to Disneyland?
It’s Kimberly with Get Away Today, here to talk to you about the Disneyland Resort. I'm so excited that Pixar Pier has just celebrated its one-year anniversary at Disney's California Adventure Park!
Guests can celebrate their favorite Pixar pals like never before with new attractions, dining options and character experiences. With so much fun to experience, you’re sure to have an Incredible time at this magical land.
If you’re not sure what this fairly-new land is all about, keep reading to find out what you need to know about Pixar Pier.
Pixar Pier is split into four brand-new neighborhoods. Each neighborhood is themed after a Disney-Pixar story, making it the ultimate experience for any Pixar fan. Incredibles Park, Toy Story Boardwalk, Pixar Promenade and Inside Out Headquarters all feature unique dining options, attractions and fun for the entire family.
Welcoming you into Pixar Pier is the colorful and bright marquee. The sign doesn’t seem like much during the day, but when it lights up at night, it is quite the sight to see. You’ll also see Pixar-themed murals and photo spots throughout the Pier, perfect for insta-worthy photos.
Looking for a perfect souvenir? Make sure to stop by Knick’s Knacks across from the Lamplight Lounge. Here, you’ll be able to unique Pixar shirts, toys and more.
It’s exciting to see, over the last year, the vision come to life for this re-imagined land. They truly have taken Pixar Pier to “Infinity and Beyond!”
In Incredibles Park, guests can experience the Incredicoaster ride. You'll go on a high-speed adventure with the Parr family, to try and capture baby Jack-Jack.
Since both Jack-Jack and Edna Mode are “too short to ride”, they decide to stay behind. However after Jack-Jack escapes, each family member will need to use their incredible powers to bring him back home safely.
While the attraction itself is the same as the old California Screamin’ coaster, it contains new features and elements that make this ride truly super.
If you were “Brave” enough to go on Mickey's Fun Wheel, you're sure to love the newly themed Pixar Pal-A-Round. Each gondola has been decorated to reflect a Disney-Pixar movie, making this attraction more bright and colorful than ever before!
Jessie's Critter Carousel
King Triton's Carousel transformed into Jessie’s Critter Carousel in Spring 2019. Jessie and her wilderness friends offer up cute seats for you to saddle up and take a spin around the Pier. It's a good ride for younger children and anyone who isn't up for a wild ride The Incredicoaster.
Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind
Inside Out Headquarters debuted “Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind” in Summer 2019. It is inspired by all of Riley's emotions from the Inside Out film. Hop aboard a colorful carriage and ride the waves of emotions such as Joy, Sadness and Anger. You'll also be able to meet some of your favorite Inside Out characters in Pixar Pier.
In addition to all of the fun, guests have a variety of dining options at Pixar Pier. Here are all of the food items you can indulge in while you’re there.
Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats
The hilarious abominable snowman from Monsters Inc. has decided to open a treat kiosk on Pixar Pier and we couldn’t be more excited! Here, guests can enjoy soft-serve treats like “It’s Lemon!” soft-serve and the Pixar Pier Parfait. Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats is the perfect stop for a sunny Southern California day.
Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums
If you’ve seen Incredibles 2, then you’ll know how important “Num Nums” are to saving the world. Luckily, all you’ll need to worry about when you visit Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums is what delectable cookie you’ll want to choose.
You can’t go wrong, but the Jack-Jack Cookie Num Num is quickly becoming a fan favorite. The best part? You can pair these delicious treats with a variety of milk choices, making it the perfect snack while visiting Pixar Pier.
Inspired by the Pixar short, “Toy Story Toon: Small Fry”, this quick-service location provides guests with a more filling food option. Poultry Palace provides Turkey Legs, Chicken Drumsticks and Corn on the Cob. Not only does the building’s architecture look like a giant “fun” meal, but you’ll receive your order in an adorable package as well. If you’re looking for a quick place to get a bite, check out Poultry Palace.
Señor Buzz Churros
What would a trip to Disneyland be without a famous Disneyland churro? At Señor Buzz Churros, you can find a classic churro (Cinnamon Sugar Galaxy Churro), as well as a Caliente Churro. While this might sound spicy, the flavor tastes similar to Red Hots candy. If you’re a fan of cinnamon, we highly recommend trying the Caliente Churro!
Speaking of spicy food items, you’ll want to stop by Angry Dogs. Themed after the character Anger from Inside Out, these hot dogs get spicier the angrier he gets.
The “Slightly Annoyed Dog” is a typical hot dog. If you’re looking for a kick, we recommend getting the “Angry Dog.” This spicy all-beef hot dog is sure to wake you up. Choose from unique sauces like Buffalo Hot Sauce, Brown Mustard and more.
Though Disneyland regulars were sad to lose Ariel’s Grotto and the Cove Bar, the Lamplight Lounge has quickly won the hearts of many. It serves the beloved Lobster Nachos made famous by the Cove Bar, and offers an eclectic variety of gastro-pub foods for children and adults.
Reservations for this restaurant fill quickly, so we recommend making them as soon as you can.
Pixar Pier is truly spectacular, and we hope that you get to visit this re-imagined land soon!
