Hey there!
Who else is itching for spring? Since my kids and my husband are tied to the traditional school schedule, Spring Break is our best opportunity to get out of town for a few days between Christmas and summer breaks.
It's also a celebration. We love winter holidays and the abundance of winter sports close to our Utah home, but we are as excited as anyone for the arrival of spring. It's often a chance to warm up and see many places around the U.S. at their best.
Here are a few of our favorite spring break ideas for families.
San Diego, California
San Diego is a no-fail family vacation. It has beaches, theme parks, museums, nature and perfect weather year-round. A few of my family's favorites include
- beaches,
- LEGOLAND California,
- SeaWorld San Diego and
- Balboa Park.

Disneyland
When I think of a Disneyland trip, I can't help feeling a little giddy. It really is the Happiest Place on Earth for many families. Combine Disneyland with a visit to Knott's Berry Farm, beach time or other fun Orange County activities.

Phoenix, Arizona
If you need a cure for your winter blues, Phoenix is it. Spring in Phoenix is sunny and warm. Book a resort with a great pool, check out the spring training baseball schedule, plan plenty of outdoor activities and enjoy all the urban amenities that Phoenix has to offer.

Las Vegas, Nevada
Yeah, Las Vegas isn't an ideal family destination. Nevertheless, the weather is warm and there are lots of fun and unique things for families to do both on and off the famous Las Vegas Strip. Spring weather in Las Vegas is warm enough for outdoor swimming, so be sure to build in plenty of pool time!

Salt Lake City, Utah
Spring is the best of both worlds in Salt Lake City, Utah. Nearby winter resorts usually have snow well into April while temperatures in the city are warm enough to enjoy popular family activities both indoor and out. All of Utah's national parks are about a half-day's drive from Salt Lake City.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Oklahoma City isn't a traditional Spring Break hot spot, but that's part of its appeal. There are a lot more fun activities for families here than you might expect, without the crowds or peak prices. Check out Myriad Gardens, Oklahoma Science Center and the new whitewater rafting and adventure park.

Galveston, Texas
Galveston is a fun beach getaway for families. Choose from commercial beaches with amusement park rides on the pier, restaurants, rentals and other amenities or enjoy a more natural experience at Galveston Island State Park. This fun city has lots of interesting theme parks, museums and historical sites too!
