It’s Kimberly with Get Away Today, back to talk with you about The Happiest Place on Earth. As you may have heard, there are some exciting happening at the Disneyland Resort in 2018. With various festivals, celebrations and grand-openings, this year will be one to remember forever.
Two of the most anticipated events for this year are Pixar Fest and Pixar Pier. However, it’s hard to know the difference between the two. Keep reading to find out everything you’ll need to know about Pixar Fest and Pixar Pier.
Pixar Fest is the first Pixar-themed celebration coming to the Disneyland Resort. It will make its debut on April 13, 2018 in both parks and will continue until September 3, 2018.
There are three main entertainment options that are part of Pixar Fest. First, you can catch the long-awaited return of the Paint the Night parade, but this time in California Adventure. And sometime in June, a dazzling new float featuring the Incredibles will be added to the parade.
Second, the Pixar Play Parade is going to make a reappearance in Disneyland – with three new floats. Finally, there will be a new fireworks show in Disneyland. “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” is an immersive show that combines pyrotechnics, projections and classic Disney-Pixar music. With so much to do, this festival is a must for any Disney-Pixar fan.
Pixar Pier is a new land that will open on June 23, 2018 and I couldn’t be more excited. Here, you’ll be able to experience a brand-new makeover of Paradise Pier. Pixar Pier will include newly rethemed attractions, dining and shopping based on beloved Pixar films.
You’ll also be able to enjoy the highly anticipated Incredicoaster. Incredicoaster is an update to the old California Screamin’ coaster. It will include a new queue and projections that feature your favorite super hero family. In addition to this, you can explore new neighborhoods that feature Toy Story and Inside Out characters and attractions. Plus, experience new renovations to Mickey’s Fun Wheel. This renovation will include Pixar themed gondolas, but keep the famous Mickey logo.
When should I go?
There are advantages to any time of year, especially with so many exciting events happening in 2018. If you want to experience both Pixar Fest and Pixar Pier on the same trip, you’ll want to be there in the summer, on or after June 23.
Most people hesitate to travel during peak season, but there are many benefits to visiting Disneyland this summer.
- Longer park hours.
- Consistent entertainment schedule – including all of the Pixar Fest entertainment.
- MaxPass can help you beat the crowds and plan your day with few delays.
- You’ll be among the first to experience Pixar Pier
If you wait until later in the year, Pixar Pier will be open, but Pixar Fest may have already ended. However, we know other spectacular events will be happening. Halloween Time typically begins mid-September and ends on Halloween. Then, Holidays at the Disneyland Resort start in mid-November and continue through the New Year.
