Hi! Looking for a hotel in Oklahoma City?
The Hampton Inn and Suites Oklahoma City-Bricktown did not disappoint. We stayed in a double king suite, a room I previously did not know existed in the Hampton Inn chain. It was spacious, with plenty of room for my family of six.
The family-sized room wasn't the only reason that Hampton Inn and Suites Oklahoma City-Bricktown worked for my family. Here is are six reasons this hotel was a winner.
Stay in the Double King Suite
Usually when we stay in a hotel, we have to get two rooms or stay in a hotel that has a room with two queens and a pull-out sofa. This can be challenging to find. Our room at the Hampton Inn and Suites Oklahoma City-Bricktown was much larger and had two bathrooms. It was one of the best hotel stays we have experienced as a family.
Features include a separate bedroom and bathroom with king size bed and flat screen television, dresser and full-size closet. In the main area is another king size bed, flat screen television, full bathroom with separate sink and mirror, pull-out sofa, dresser, closet, and wet bar area with a sink, refrigerator and microwave. The cost of the room is comparable to a little less than two regular size rooms. It is perfect for larger families who need a little more space. I feel like it was more spacious than having two rooms.
Take a Dip in the Swimming Pool
This pool was the nicest hotel swimming pool we have ever swam in and we have stayed in quite a few hotels. It was large, with an area for playing basketball, another area for going down a toddler-size slide, as well as an umbrella fountain that had water constantly running down it for entertainment. Additionally, there were beach balls and basketballs and noodles for use of guests. Our four kids ages 6-14 played for hours in the pool. We finally pulled them out when it closed at 11pm.
Enjoy complimentary breakfast
As usual at a Hampton Inn & Suites, there was a complimentary breakfast offered from 6am-10am. We enjoyed the waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, toast, muffins, juice, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. I was thankful that on Saturday morning of our stay, breakfast lasted until 10:30am. There is a large eating area, larger than most hotels, and it was clean and nice. The food was hot, the breakfast area was well-stocked, and it was not too crowded.
Park for free
Unlike other downtown hotels we’ve experienced, parking was free to hotel guests. There is an area in the front of the hotel on street level to park temporarily while you check-in. Then you are able to use your room key to enter and exit the parking garage, which felt safe and had plenty of parking.
Enjoy downtown attractions
We enjoyed many activities downtown while visiting Oklahoma City, and it was great to be so close to them from our hotel. Being in Bricktown we were even able to walk to some things. Right next door is the baseball stadium. We were there in the winter, but it would be fun to stay at the hotel and walk to the baseball game.
Take in the view
This hotel is tall and we were on the 8th floor. We had several large windows in our hotel room and it was nice to be able to see out into the city during our stay.
Help yourself to the lobby amenities
The lobby is large and comfortable with plenty of seating. It is tastefully decorated and features a double-sided fireplace. There are several charging stations with desk space for a laptop, and newspapers and fruit bowls available. The staff members are friendly. As we checked out of the hotel, my husband commented on how friendly the staff members were to us.
Order in or walk to a nearby restaurant
There are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We also enjoyed ordering a pizza to our room during our stay. The refrigerator was just large enough to hold the pizza box and soda for overnight leftovers. Our room also had microwave popcorn, something not as common in a hotel room.
