Hi there!

I just spend three fantastic days in Martin County, Florida for a Spring Break getaway with the kids. I wanted a vacation where Mommy could relax while the kids had fun in the sun on the beautiful shores of Florida’s Treasure Coast. Mission accomplished.

Florida’s Treasure Coast

Florida’s Treasure Coast is a stretch of sand along Florida’s east coast where tranquil sands and a rich history await. It is conveniently located within two hours or less of four international airports: Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami and Orlando. Coastal Living dubbed the barrier island of Hutchinson Shores as “America’s Happiest Seaside Town” in 2016.

Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa

Opened in 2017, Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa is the newest hotel on Hutchinson Island. It brings both luxury and family comfort to Jensen Beach, Florida.

The coastal-inspired decor makes you feel on vacation the moment you walk into the hotel. There are 178 guest rooms all include modern amenities, comfortable furnishings, and spacious bathrooms.

Dining

There are a few dining options at Hutchinson Shores Resort, but all are serviced from one main restaurant, Drift.

Drift offers a breakfast buffet that is stocked with just about everything from fresh bakery items to smoked salmon and a made to order omelet. For my young kids, I ordered from the children’s menu instead because I knew that they wouldn’t eat enough to justify the cost of a fabulous buffet. We enjoyed beautiful views of the sunshine over the beach and small pool from the full walled windows in Drift’s main dining room.

We enjoyed lunch by the main pool. I ordered freshly muddled cocktails while the kids quickly sipped down their kid-friendly raspberry daiquiris. The pool menu offers a variety of items from burgers to tacos to unique pizzas. I tried the shrimp tacos while the kids scarfed up the pepperoni pizza – which was big enough to save leftovers for a late night snack.

Dinner was a real treat! Fancy yet casual. Drift serves a delicious menu featuring pasta, seafood, a massive wine and cocktail list. Kids can choose from all their favorites on a menu they can color.

The Pools

Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa has two pools on property. One is small with a handful of lounge chairs, positioned beachfront with a very handy poolside bar. The other pool is large, with tons of lounge seating, a hot tub, towel service and full service bar and poolside dining. My kids loved pool time here. When I asked my daughter what her favorite part of the trip was she stated, “My daiquiri while I was swimming!”

Here are a few more awesome perks at Hutchinson Shores Resort that make it family-friendly.

  • Complimentary bottled water all day, every day
  • Kids menus with kids cups in restaurant
  • Removable shower head for easy “bathtime” with the young ones

Nearby Attractions

Jensen Beach may look like a sleepy little town but I was pleasantly surprised by how fun and family-friendly this destination is. It is easy to enjoy a relaxing vacation while also keeping minds and bodies active.

Hutchinson Island has 23 miles of beach on the Atlantic Ocean. Save some time for beach play or shell hunting when you’re not relaxing in the Hutchinson Shores pools.

We spent time at The Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast. This precious museum is a great way to spend several hours indoors with kids. From the grocery store to the post office and auto shop, kids can stretch their imagination for fun play.

The Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center is wonderful for all ages. I suggest you arrive first thing in the morning so that you can hand-feed stingrays, not just touch them. In addition to the various animal stations, you can explore some trails to observe Florida plants and wildlife up close.

We all enjoyed our visit to Florida’s Treasure Coast at the Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa. I wish there was another quick-service restaurant option at the hotel, but I can’t complain much because everything was delicious.

I love the beach on Hutchinson Shores Island and the coastal chic feel of this hotel. The best part are the luxury amenities in a family friendly environment.

Disclosure: Our stay at the Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa was hosted by The Mayfield Group. All opinions are my own.
