I’m Allison, founder and editor of Tips for Family Trips.
I founded Tips for Family Trips five years ago with the belief that travel is good for families because it makes them stronger, smarter and happier. My goal is to give you the information you need to make the best travel decisions for your family. I also hope to save you money (click the link to find out how), so that you can travel more often!
Please keep reading to learn more about me and my family.

Here is a little more information about me and my family.
I live near Salt Lake City, Utah and am Mom to two children: an twelve-year-old daughter and a ten-year-old son. My husband also loves to travel. When our daughter was four weeks old, we took her on a 2,000-mile road trip. We survived, and have been traveling as a family ever since.
A few years later, our son was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma when he was five-years-old. During his treatment, which included two surgeries, six intense rounds of chemotherapy and many weeks in the hospital, memories of happy family vacations and dreams of future adventures helped keep our family’s spirits afloat. The day after he was declared cancer free, we celebrated with a LEGOLAND road trip.
We like to get out of the house as often as we can, and we are familiar with both the well-known and out-of-the-way attractions throughout Utah. I enjoy all types of travel, but especially love road trips, national parks and cruises.
I have an MBA from the University of Utah and a background in Human Resources and teaching college business classes. My work has been featured on ABC Television, the Huffington Post, and Parents Magazine. When I’m not traveling, I love reading, going to lunch with friends and family movie night.
